About this event

NCJWA Vic is delighted to invite leaders and change makers from all Jewish organisations who have gender equality aspirations and goals to join our inaugural Gender Equality Webinar, ‘Gender Equality: Tips, Hurdles and Successes’ on Wednesday 12 August 2020, 1-2pm.

The purpose of this webinar is to support leaders and change makers from Jewish organisations to succeed in achieving their gender equality aspirations. By providing an inspirational and informative interactive forum for organisations to learn from others’ experiences, lessons, hurdles and successes in gender equality.

This online webinar will be interactive, with three speakers and time for participant questions.

Speakers include:

Cameron McLeod (General Manager, Community Engagement, North Melbourne Football Club (NMFC). A social entrepreneur and transformational leader, Cameron is passionate about harnessing the power of sport to create social and economic change to reach and engage disadvantaged communities) to discuss how NMFC has driven Workplace Equality and Respect into reality including drivers, goals, how they began, challenges and advice.

Jennifer Huppert (President of the Jewish Community Council of Victoria (JCCV), Board member of the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission, a lawyer who has served on not for profit Boards, the Legislative Council of the Parliament of Victoria and was a director of the Emergency Services State Superannuation Fund) to discuss how JCCV has implemented gender equality into its policies and procedures.

Annette Charak (President of Shira Hadasha, an Orthodox synagogue, pushing the boundaries of women’s involvement in synagogue life) to discuss how this synagogue has managed to meld Jewish Orthodox practice and gender equality.

This webinar is part of the #MakeSpaceForHer campaign and will launch our Gender Equality Community of Practice, an ongoing regular informative and interactive forum in which organisational leaders and change makers can learn from each other’s’ experiences, lessons, hurdles and successes in gender equality.
